Druaightys Ny Marrey

Druaightys Ny Marrey

My second collection! This collection took over a year to create, as I wanted to fully immerse myself in the design process. With my first collection, I was too eager to release it, only to find myself later wishing I had made alterations or introduced more exciting design changes. I realised I had rushed through the process. I needed more time to sit with my ideas, to wear my pieces and truly fall in love with them as they were. So, I gave myself a full year to reflect and refine before releasing this next collection.

Over the past year, I have spent many seasons roaming the beaches of the Isle of Man and Donegal—gathering oysters and shells, watching the sand dunes shift in the wind, and noticing the first spring flowers emerge. This collection is an ode to these walks, to the coastline that has always soothed my nerves, and to the changing seasons that bring rhythm to my year.  Druaightys Ny Marrey is Manx for Romance of the Sea, expressing my never-ending need for a coastline in sight.  Each piece within the collection is rooted in a moment from my walks and has either an Irish or Manx name that helps to convey it's story.  I can't wait to deep dive into each one with you over the coming months!

A key shift in this collection is a stronger focus on high-end projects. While I will always keep the Classics Collection at accessible prices—creating everyday, wearable pieces for everyone—CROI MEALA has increasingly moved towards bespoke designs. I adore crafting individual pieces for special moments, and this aspect of my work has become the foundation of my business. With this collection, I wanted to showcase some of my goldsmithing skills and techniques that elevate this service.

As my partner is Australian, we spent Christmas last year in Australia with his family, and I seized the opportunity to collaborate with two southern hemisphere photographers whose work I have long admired. I’ll share more about these shoots another time, but for now, please explore and enjoy Druaightys Ny Marrey!

Through summer’s tranquil, sunlit swims,
Seaweed dries as long nights dim.
Autumn storms reshape the land,
Scattered shells along the sand.
Winter snowscape, gold and white,
Sea-drift blooms in spring’s soft light.
Through marshy weeds, the soft wind weaves,
The tide returns, and time recedes.
