Focklyn Oanluckit — Buried Words — is a collection of hand-struck fine silver coin necklaces, created in collaboration with the Manx Museum as part of Culture Vannin's Treisht26 celebrations for Blein ny Gaelgey, the Year of the Manx Language.

Each coin is made using the original Viking technique — engraved steel dies are hammered by hand onto fine silver blanks — meaning every piece carries its own organic character and slight imperfections, just like the ancient hoards that inspired them. The dies were engraved locally by Island Engraving on the Isle of Man, keeping the whole project rooted in the Island from start to finish.

The designs are drawn directly from burial coins excavated across Mann, with lettering hand-traced from unearthed inscriptions and motifs including a longship, a quartering cross, and three dots thought to be an early Three Legs of Man. Woven into these ancient forms are three phrases from the Manx language: Traa Dy Liooar (time enough), My Ghraih (my love), and My Veen (my darling).

The collection is currently on display as part of the Mind your Language exhibition at the Manx Museum in Douglas, open until 4th October 2026. These necklaces are also available to purchase in person at the Manx Museum heritage gift shop.

30% of every online sale is passed directly to the Manx Museum, supporting the care of the Island's historic sites, countryside, and cultural heritage. The pendants are fine silver set on a 925 silver chain.
